BIOGRAPHY IDIOTIX 2010

Idiotix (X)
1992-1995 X studies audiovisual arts at the "Willem de Kooning", arts academy in R'dam (Ne)
1996 She attends video-computer animation at "The Free Academy", The Hague (Ne)

1995-1998 X gets involved with the emo-psychedelic rock band "Lucy, Not the Whore". At the time Lucy is one of the most exciting underground acts in the Rotterdam circuit.. Although often misunderstood by the mainstream with their unpredictable gigs, they are eventually selected to do the “Euro-Rock-Seminar” in Duisburg (Germany)…

1997 It leads to a unique international collaboration between Lithuania “Sumerland” , England “Barfly”, The Netherlands "Lucy, Not the Whore" and “La Whorra”. Together they organise a Neuro-Tour throughout Europe.. The tour ends in Holland with a Neuro-CD recording..

1997 X and Polstra (Lucy’s drummer) found the non-profit organization “Neuro-Vision” to help support and stimulate the Rotterdam underground InDiE scene on an international level.
X designs the Neuro-website with the Neuro-Tourkit section for musicians: a place where they can swap gigs, addresses and share their experiences abroad..

1997-2001 During this time X is also active as VJ/video-editor (R'dam Festivals, Paradiso, 013, De Twijfelaar, Nighttown, Houseparade, theater, video clips..) with AVDC VJ's.

1998-1999 X and Polstra team up with members from the UK band (Barfly), Jon and Loz. They name their band “LipsDick & MouthWash
X and Polstra travel back and forth between The Netherlands and England to rehearse and perform. They record a mini CD & a video clip in London and they are regular guests at the Kashmir Klub.

2000-... Back in The Netherlands she locks herself up in her home studio and starts writing and recording new material.. X has grown to dislike being dependent of studio technicians and feels it's holding her back in her creativity. She takes up 'playing' most of the instruments herself developing her own Idiotix style.

2001 X crawls out of her cave and goes straight into the rehearsal studios with Polstra and some other musicians.

2001-... During those rehearsals she meets guitar player Peter Faber (Butrot, Narcissus) and they form the acoustic duo “Electric Seaweed”. The duo travels, playing gigs throughout the Netherlands. The song 'So Far Away' from their debut album is picked up by Creative Commons and released on their Compilation CD.

Electric Seaweed is currently recording their second album.

2003-2007 X and Lopez Carlos Productions start producing video clips and short experimental movies. As MX50 VJ's they provide visuals for Matika parties (Nighttown), Now & Wow, Krakatau, Off_Corso, EE Music and Electric Seaweed..

2003-... X rediscovers painting and designing.
